Manager of Visitor Services

Frank Lloyd Wright’s House on Kentuck Knob, a National Historic Landmark, seamlessly integrates architecture and sculpture into the beautiful landscape. Located in the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania, Kentuck Knob, an excellent illustration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian architecture, is embraced daily by visitors from all parts of the globe.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s House on Kentuck Knob is seeking a full-time Manager of Visitor Services. Duties include general administrative work relating to the daily operations of the historic house museum. The ideal candidate should be responsible, trustworthy, a team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Monthly scheduling of tours guides and visitor center staff
  • Group Tour main point of contact includes scheduling and marketing, collecting payments
  • Supervise the Visitor Center’s daily operations including Front Desk, Café, and Gift Shop
  • Train staff in customer service techniques and departmental procedures
  • Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed
  • Assist with Social Media and website posts in a consistent manner; monitor TripAdvisor reviews and ensure continued strong reviews
  • Monitor Kentuck Knob’s Information email account daily and forward and/or answer questions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar
  • 3 years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel
  • Experience with ShowClix ticketing system, or similar
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends

Tour Guide

Frank Lloyd Wright’s House on Kentuck Knob is seeking Tour Guides for our 2018 season to provide the best possible experience to each of our visitors.

Training will be held early to mid-February, with our season opening March 12, 2018. We are seeking guides who can lead tours daily between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:00 pm. Shifts and scheduling are flexible within reason.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the tours of the house and/or sculptures
  • Act as a host at the house as needed
  • Assist in the Visitor Center with various task as needed
  • Have the aptitude and interest in learning the history of Kentuck Knob, Frank Lloyd Wright, and our sculptures
  • Have public speaking ability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree desirable but not required
  • High level of interest in architecture and art
  • A friendly, welcoming, and patient demeanor is essential
  • Should genuinely enjoy interacting with the public
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends




Shuttle Driver

Kentuck Knob is currently looking for Shuttle Drivers for our 2017 season, which begins the first week of March. The shuttle driver position is part-time and seasonal.

A shuttle driver at Kentuck Knob operates the shuttle between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm between the house and the visitor center.

Drivers must have a valid PA driver’s license.

Applicants must have the ability to learn about the history of Kentuck Knob, Frank Lloyd Wright and sculptures, have public speaking ability and a friendly and welcoming demeanor.

We are seeking drivers that can work between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. Shifts and scheduling are flexible. We will be offering a training session in mid-February.
