Tour Guide

Frank Lloyd Wright’s House on Kentuck Knob, a National Historic Landmark, seamlessly integrates architecture and sculpture into the beautiful landscape. Located in the Laurel Highlands of western Pennsylvania, Kentuck Knob, an excellent illustration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian architecture, is embraced daily by visitors from all parts of the globe.

Frank Lloyd Wright’s House on Kentuck Knob is seeking Tour Guides for our 2018 season to provide the best possible experience to each of our visitors.

Training will be held early to mid-February, with our season opening March 12, 2018. We are seeking guides who can lead tours daily between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:00 pm. Shifts and scheduling are flexible within reason.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the tours of the house and/or sculptures
  • Act as a host at the house as needed
  • Assist in the Visitor Center with various task as needed
  • Have the aptitude and interest in learning the history of Kentuck Knob, Frank Lloyd Wright, and our sculptures
  • Have public speaking ability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree desirable but not required
  • High level of interest in architecture and art
  • A friendly, welcoming, and patient demeanor is essential
  • Should genuinely enjoy interacting with the public
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends

Café Coordinator – Weekends

Frank Lloyd Wright’s House on Kentuck Knob is seeking a Café Coordinator for Saturdays and Sundays (with the potential of more days) throughout the 2018 Season (opening March 10 – December 31). Hours are 9:30 am – 6:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve visitors in a welcoming and friendly manner
  • Ensure the Café runs in a superior manner
  • Properly clean the Cafe at the end of each day
  • See that the Café is stocked and ready for the next day
  • Clean porch area
  • Provide weekly Café Attendant with list of items needed for order
  • Answer phone calls if needed

Qualifications

  • Prior restaurant experience
  • ServSafe Certified or willingness to become ServSafe Certified
  • Friendly professional demeanor
  • Team Player
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs




Shuttle Driver

Kentuck Knob is currently looking for Shuttle Drivers for our 2017 season, which begins the first week of March. The shuttle driver position is part-time and seasonal.

A shuttle driver at Kentuck Knob operates the shuttle between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm between the house and the visitor center.

Drivers must have a valid PA driver’s license.

Applicants must have the ability to learn about the history of Kentuck Knob, Frank Lloyd Wright and sculptures, have public speaking ability and a friendly and welcoming demeanor.

We are seeking drivers that can work between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. Shifts and scheduling are flexible. We will be offering a training session in mid-February.
